Frida
Kahlo (full name Frida Kahlo de Rivera) was born on July 6, 1907 and died
on July 13, 1954. AMexican painter, Frida is best known for her self-portraits
of which she painted many.
Though born in 1907, Frida Kahlo would often give her birth year as 1910, the year of the Mexican Revolution. She was a devoted nationalist who wanted the beginning of her life to begin with the beginning of Mexico's and her life and her work reflect this sentiment. She was also a feminist of which her work also refelcted.
Frida developed polio at a young age causing her right leg to be much thinner than the left. She would suffer with health problems her entire life and died at the young age of 47 years old.
